The National Youth Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku has urged the electorate not to allow election wreckers twist their arms to rig the election.

According to him, the ballot paper is the destiny of the country where choices will be made as to vote for prosperity or continuous stay in poverty.

He observed that majority of Ghanaians hope to see the presidential nominee of NPP Nana Addo who has solutions to Ghana’s problems be at the helm of affairs, encouraging them to ensure that the dream is materialised.

Speaking during the launch of the party’s manifesto on Sunday at the forecourt of International Trade Fair Center in Accra, he encouraged Ghanaians to vote wisely for a leader who will change the fortunes of Ghana and not the one who will destroy it.

‘This election is an election about the survival of our country, two things are at stake in exercising one’s franchise, either you vote for prosperity or hardship. If you have planned not to vote, the advice I have for you is our thumbs are the way to either good health or sickness, the ballot paper is the destiny of this country, don’t allow people to twist your arms by rigging the elections. Lots of the youth want Nana Addo to be at the helm of affairs. Don’t make this dream go down the drain. Be vigilant on the election day,’ he advised.

Mr. Awuku entreated party faithful not to be complacent but to campaign vigorously for the party to win power come January 2017.

‘We the youth should make sure that we embark on a house to house campaign to sell our message to those who are oblivious of our message,’ he urged.

He advised other political parties to desist from insulting the party’s presidential nominee.

According to him, Nana Addo is poised to change the fortunes of the country just like the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and Alassane Ouattara of Ivory Coast, saying Nana Addo is Buhari and Ouattara for the Ghanaian youth.

He observed that even though Buhari was labelled as a member of ISIS, Nigerians still voted for him, urging the youth not to be deceived by believing in lies peddled against Nana Addo by members of National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The National Youth Organiser of NPP said they (NDC) do this just to score cheap political points and that they should not be swayed by lies.

‘There was a turn around in Nigeria and Ivory Coast, when citizens of these countries chose elderly people to rule them, now Ivory Coast is a country to behold. Some people said he would die even before the elections, but majority of Nigerians voted massively for him, he was accused of being an ISIS member and that the Nigerian country will be a mess if he wins power, but they still chose him. The Ghanaian youth, our Buhari and Alassane Ouattara is Nana Addo, the one-district-one-factory and one-village–one-dam policy ideas are geared towards improving our livelihoods, we are pleading with you to vote for Nana Addo,’ he appealed.
