AGI disappointed in government for not reducing electricity tariff

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) is not happy that the government’s 2017 budget was silent on realistic measures to reduce the cost of electricity the country.

President of the Association, James Asare-Adjei, said industries are dissatisfied with the Finance Minister’s silence on electricity which affects the cost of production by industries.

“There were some key issues that industry was looking forward to, especially on electricity and power tariffs reduction, but we did not hear anything of that sort, and that was not enough”, he told 3FM Thursday after the budget presentation to parliament.

He said notwithstanding, the Association is still committed to supporting the government to achieves its various initiatives aimed at job creation.

“There are some parts of the budget that meet up with the industrialization drive and we as an association will do all to support government achieve it he said.
