Akufo-Addo, Awuku, others formed vigilante groups to plunge Ghana into chaos - Abubakar

National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sidii Abubakar has alleged that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Sammy Awuku the National Organizer and John Boadu the Acting General Secretary formed the vigilante groups to plunge Ghana into chaos.

Sidii Abubakar in an interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM said, the purpose of the vigilante groups formed by the president and other members of the party, was to foment trouble should they have lost the 2016 general elections.

He said, ‘’ His Excellency the President Nana Akufo-Addo is aware of it. The National Youth Organizer of the NPP is aware of these vigilante groups and all the top notch of the NPP are the people who set it up; they set it purposely because they felt that in the event of NDC winning the 2016 election, they will use it and apply it just like what is happening in Kenya. The way Raila Odinga is now messing up in Kenya. That was how the NPP planned to do it and the opposite happened. And now, that is why they find it difficult because they are not able to meet the aspirations and demands of the vigilante groups. That is why they are doing what they are doing now.’’

When the host asked him to come clear on his allegations, he stressed, ‘’I am telling you, that is exactly what the NPP wanted to do just like what is happening in Kenya. We had several information but let us shelve it for now. As time goes on, we will expose them. They planned to cause mayhem, divide and cause problem in the country…Nana Akufo-Addo is aware, Sammy Awuku is aware and all the top notch of the NPP recruited them and the purpose of the recruitment, was to cause mayhem and to make this country ungovernable in the case of NDC winning power in 2016 but unfortunately that did not happen and we are where we are today.’’
