Former manager of Shatta Wale, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, known in showbiz as Bulldog has posted a comment on Facebook leaving many to wonder if it is an innuendo directed at the dancehall artiste.

His post comes a day after organisers of Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards released the nominees list for the 2017 edition, with Shatta Wale’s name conspicuously ‘missing’.

Shatta Wale who has churned out numerous hit songs has been boasting about his wealth by flaunting his cars and houses on social media and even mentioned in his reaction to the BET Awards snub that he was concerned about making money than earning nominations.

But Bulldog’s post suggests that one should see above wealth. Just as Shatta Wale does, Bulldog posted a picture of him sitting right in front of a car in a mansion with the caption:

“The cheapest things in life are on sale... The most precious ones are invaluable and priceless... Those are earned and conferred unto man... No matter the wealth of a man, he can't afford respect and recognition...”

Stonebwoy, winner of the 2015 Best International Act: Africa, was the only Ghanaian artiste nominated this year and will be competing with Wizkid (Nigeria), Davido (Nigeria), Tekno (Nigeria), AKA (South Africa), Nasty C (South Africa), Mr Eazi (Nigeria), and Babes Wodumo (South Africa).

The BET Awards were established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African Americans and other minorities in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year.

The 2017 edition is scheduled for the Microsoft Theatre on June 25, 2017.

Meanwhile, Bulldog has congratulated Stonebwoy on his nomination.
