Controversial Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress( NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has warned Ghanaians not to ignore issues concerning the arrested South African Police officers, who were allegedly brought into the country to offer VIP protection training to the NPP internal security team.

According to Anyidoho, the reason given by the NPP should be disregarded, insisting that the South Africans are mercenaries , who were brought into the country to cause mayhem ahead of the 2016 election.

Speaking on Accra based Okay Morning Show Wednesday, Mr Anyidoho, claimed that the NPP is a party of violence, adding that it can be traced to their history .

The NDC firebrand then launched a scathing attack on the memory of one of the members of the big six, Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey, accusing him of aiding terrorists during the height of UP- CPP rivalry. “Jake Obetsebi Lamptey’s Father distributed guns and bombs to detonate at CPP rallies. It is a fact… the history books are there for everybody to read,” Anyidoho charged.

Three (3) South African nationals namely, Major Ahmed Shaik HAZIS (Rtd.), 54 years old, WO/ Denver Dwayhe NAIDU (Rtd.), 39 years old and Captain Mlungiseleli JOKANI (Rtd.), 45 years of age were on Sunday arrested at EL CAPITANO Hotel, AGONA DUAKWA, in the Central Region by the security agencies for suspicious conduct and engaging in acts that have security implications.

Newspapers aligned to the government and some NDC communicators claim the three gentlemen were brought into the country by Capt. KODA, head of security detail of Nana Akufo-Addo to cause chaos in this year’s general election but the NPP has vehemently denied the allegation.

“We wish to place on record that the presence of the three men in Ghana is not for any act that can be said remotely to threaten the country’s security. Known security detail belonging to the NPP’s presidential and vice presidential candidates were being given routine training by these security experts specialised and licensed to offer VIP Protection, it said in a statement
