A flagbearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nurudeen Iddrisu says the party is broke barely two years in opposition – a situation he blamed on bad leadership.

“As we speak, the NDC is unable to pay its utility bills,” the 43-year-old Banker told Francis Abban on Morning Starr Monday, June 4, 2018.

According to him, he is compelled to join the presidential race because he believes he is the right man to secure victory for the Party in 2020 after the humiliating defeat it suffered in 2016.

“We have big challenges in Ghana and I want to become a President to address all of them…Ghanaians are mostly not empowered and as a result, many love to pull each other down. I will make sure that becomes a thing of the past.

“The NDC in recent times, haven’t empowered the grassroots, they haven’t empowered the business community among others. As we speak, the NDC is unable to pay its utility bills because we weren’t empowered,” he stated.

The new entrant into the presidential race also disclosed that he has the full support of his uncle Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu and his wife former Attorney General and Minister of Justice Betty Mould Iddrisu.

“Absolutely, I have their [Betty Mould-Iddrisu and Mahama Iddrisu] full support and not only them, I have the support of former President Rawlings as well,” he asserted.
