Ghana shot-stopper Fatau Dauda has rated the Nigeria Professional Football League miles ahead of the Ghana Premier League insisting it is physical, tougher and not meant for lazy players.

To him, young players who have more energy and can run for an entire game period do not steal headlines in Ghana, rather players above 30 do in sharp contract with the NPFL where young players are very serious and hardworking, increasing the physicality of the game.

Speaking in an interview with completesportsnigeria.com, Dauda said he’s had a remarkable first season with Enyimba and expects a better season ahead.

“Well, it has been a remarkable experience for me,” he said.

“I don’t think there is any major difference between both leagues (Ghana and Nigeria) as you have talented players here in Nigeria and Ghana.

“The only difference is that the NPFL is tougher and more physical. You have to be very strong physically and mentally to excel in the NPFL. The league here is not meant for lazy players.

“In Ghana, you see players who are over 30 years of age making impact in the league than the young players which is rare in Nigeria. The older guys are the ones who always hog the headlines,” he added.

Fatau joined Enyimba last season and guided them to qualify for the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup.
