Richard Ofori plays down title defense, revels in Liberty Professionals stalemate

Wa All Stars goalie Richard Ofori has played his side’s defence after despite mustering a run of six games without defeat. The Wa based shot stopper failed to rule out the title ambitions of the Champions but tagged their title defence as too early.

The Black Stars shotstopper , who returned to the domestic scene after missing out on a PSL deal , starred prominently at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf park to earn a point for Wa All Stars in a 0-0 stalemate. The acrobatic goalie did not mince words in glorifying his team mates for the point earned in Accra but played down any move at defending their trophy.

“It is too early to talk of title defense just yet.

“We have earned a very important point on the road and that is the most important thing for now.

” We dropped points at home to Ebusua Dwarfs and to have earned a point here is very very important for us ” Ofori said after the Liberty game.

Wa All Stars return home to take on WAFA SC in the last of their outstanding league fixtures with the possibility of sealing a place in the top three.
