After a night of captivating musical performances from a tall list of artistes at this year’s highly anticipated Ghana Meets Naija, dancehall act, Shatta Wale was voted King of the concert.
The six-hour event held at the Accra International Conference Centre, Saturday, saw Shatta Wale and M.anifest ‘face-off’ Nigeria’s Falz, Davido and Tiwa Savage.
Themed around an election, the artistes, before the show were voted for in a special text-in exercise that saw a commissioner in the person of female rapper Eno, crown the eventual winner.
Shatta Wale is the only Ghanaian artiste to perform on the Ghana Meets Naija stage five times in a row.
On the night, the self-acclaimed Dancehall King as usual, connected well with the crowd as he performed his popular hits including Dancehall King, Bie Gya, Chop Kiss, Reality, Ayoo, Hosanna, Low Tempo and Taking Over.
With an enviable audience appeal, there were instances where the audience literally chanted his name and sang along even when he took a break.
Midway through his performance, Shatta Wale expressed gratitude to Empire Entertainment, organisers of the event for engaging his services adding, that the firm has earned his respect.
“I’m happy to be on this platform every year. Bola Ray and Empire Entertainment pay me very well. I really like money,” he said.
Over the years, Ghana Meets Naija has been known as the platform for the biggest artistes in both Ghana and Nigeria to share one stage and thrill music lovers.
It has always seen massive patronage because of the list of top African acts it parades.
