Of course there are sanctions! Its clear that Ghana has a problem with trafficking as seen by the recent news article stating your immigration officials kept women as sex slaves after they intercepted them while being sent to the middle east. As a US tax payer and someone who has traveled to Ghana and donated thousands of dollars to the people of Ghana in time and cash, I would not want to continue to spend money there if it was not being used for its intended purpose of ending human trafficking.
The negative comments about the US made by some of the trolls on this site make me thing that perhaps the US (and I) should stop giving Ghana aid, which a quick internet search showed was over 430 million US dollars in 2013. (2013 was also the year that many other countries stopped sending aid to Ghana because it was misused due to local corruption
