Ashaiman Lions Power Forward Carl Kuzagbe has stated his side’s progression at the expense of Nungua Coldstore to the Finals of the Tema Basketball League is “great”.
He made the statement in an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com following his team’s 61-56 win over Coldstore to seal a 2-0 series win in the postseason.
After losing to Coldstore in last year’s finals, Lions came out strong in both games to clinch the wins and avenge last year’s title loss to Nungua.
For reigning Defensive Player of the Year Kuzagbe, the win meant, “It feels great…It’s not just about the game is about life. You know it gives you some kind of confidence in life that any mountain that is insurmountable when you put your mind to it and decide to make it happen, it will surely happen” he said.
Coldstore had won six straight games against Lions ahead of the playoffs and the defending champs looked in confident mode to clinch another win but got stunned by excellent work from Ashaiman.
Lions have a chance to win the title it lost last year when the side plays Tema Community 4 in the final.
