Black Stars midfielder Alfred Duncan says he is delighted to be back to the national. He hopes to gel with the new boys in the team and when called upon to mastermind the midfield, he will account of his work effort on the pitch against Congo.
Duncan earned a place in Coach Kwesi Appiah’s 24-man-squad ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Congo.
The in-demand Sassuolo player missed the game against Ethiopia two months ago and the subsequent friendlies against Mexico and the United States of America.
Playing for Ghana has always been on the cards for Duncan, who had been linked with a move to his former club Inter Milan and AS Roma in this transfer window.
Speaking to the media after training in Kumasi on Thursday, delighted Duncan’s goal is for Ghana to win on Friday.
“I am just like most of the new players, anytime we are being called we come here to give out our best. I’m here for that. I’m here to give my contribution to the team like I have always done when I’m being called into the team.
“We still stand a chance of qualifying so we only have to give our best and get six points from these two games and see what will happen.” Ghana have just a point from two games in the World Cup qualifiers.
