Aduana Stars coach Yusif Abubakar is not underestimating the possible threat of Fosa Juniors despite the Malagasy side’s minnows tag ahead of their clash in the Caf Confederation Cup.

The two sides are set to face off in a two-legged playoff next month for a place in the group stage, having been pitted against each other in Wednesday’s draw.

The FA Cup holders in Madagascar, Fosa, are making their debut in a Caf inter-club championship.

"I don't think there is any weak team in Africa,” Abubakar said, as reported by Footballghana.

“If you check all the teams in the Confederation Cup, they are not pushovers.

"If you check [Fosa’s] record in the last game, they did very well, so we cannot underrate them.

"We have picked a lot from participating in the Caf Champions League and I know the experience there will see us through.”

Aduana are set to play their first game in the competition as they had until this round competed in the Caf Champions League.

A 4-1 aggregate defeat to Algerian outfit ES Setif on Sunday kicked the Dormaa-based side out of the elite competition.

And per Caf rules, all losers in the first round of the Champions League get a second chance to make an impression in Africa, but this time only in the less glamorous Confederation Cup.

Fosa Juniors, on the other hand, beat AS Port-Louis 2000 of Mauritius 3-0 on aggregate in the Confederation Cup first round to make the playoffs.
