Ghana forward Patrick Twumasi scores for Astana in their 3-3 stalemate with Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Europa Cup at the Estadio Jose Alvalade on Thursday night.
Astana went into the game needing to overturn a 3-1 deficit after losing to the Portuguese side heavily at their stomping ground last week.
But they were pegged back just three minutes into the game through Ducht forward Bast Dos but Marvin Tomasov levelled the score for the visitors late in the first half.
After the recess, Bruno Fernandes bagged brace to restore the hosts lead but two late goals from Dmitriy Shomko and Twumasi ended the match in a six-goal thriller.
Sporting Lisbon advanced to the next phase of the competition on 6-4 aggregate.
He lasted for 87 minutes of the match but Lumor Agbengenu did not make the match day squad for the victors.
Twumasi netted five goals in his eight appearances for FC Astana in the 2018 UEFA Europa League.
