The Z9 Helicopters were bought through collaboration between the Ghana Air Force and Ghana Gas. They are being operated and maintained by the Air Force, and are located at the Air Force Base in Accra as part of the fleet of Number 3 Squadron. John Mahama commissioned the helicopters in September 2015 at the Air Force Base, Accra. The helicopters are supposed to be used for gas pipeline inspections, protection of gas infrastructure, search and rescue, medical evacuation, crowd control and surveillance of our territorial airspace. Additionally, they are being used for personnel transportation, including VIPs and VVIPs. Dr Manteaw and his ilk should go an find out how Bawumia criss-crossed the northern region during his recent tour of the region. It is sad that Ghana is becoming a banana state where rumours, which are anchored on deliberate lies, hatred and "calculated ignorance" are pounced on by idiots and ethnocentric shameless fools to insult and denigrate innocent hardworking patriotic citizens just for political gains. I really feel sorry for what we are reducing this beautiful country into. Shame on the peddlers if untruths.
