Dancehall icon Shatta Wale has been signed on to Zylofon Media’s record label.
The signing, which took place on Wednesday January 31, 2018 at the premises of the media company at East Legon, was also to unveil the artiste as the latest addition to the Zylofon family.
Explaining the purpose behind the signing, CEO of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah, said the company was fascinated by Shatta Wale’s "intellect which has no doubt conquered Ghana and as such, Zylofon is prepared to support him with the necessary resources to enable him surmount the world."
Nana Appiah added that another reason why the artiste was signed was his understanding of the fact that music is business.
He said, "if an artiste has an inherent talent and can give great music, it becomes a privilege to align oneself with such artiste knowing that whatever investment that is been done will not go down the drain and he sees Shatta wale as such."
Shatta Wale in his response thanked Zylofon Media for being a brand that seeks to invest in local artistes especially at a time when most artistes find it difficult to get support from the industry.
He thanked everyone especially his Shatta Movement (SM) Fans for supporting his career and promised that with the backing of Zylofon Media he will do his best to see Ghana music reach the highest height.
Zylofon Music has established deals with artistes like highlife singer Kumi Guitar, Becca, Joyce Blessing, dancehall artiste Stonebwoy and Shatta wale.
