Orange Card: Fruitopian Raps is controversial FOKN Bois rapper Wanlov’s fourth solo project so far. It follows other offerings as Green Card (2007), Brown Card: African Gypsy (2010), and Yellow Card – Stomach Direction. He is also author of eight joint projects with partner M3nsa.

Consisting a remarkable 21 tracks, it features contribution from an array of top acts including EL, M3nsa, Akan, Dex Kwasi, Worlasi, Deborah Vanessa, Mutombo Da Poet, Yaa Pono, Strongman, Kyekyeku and a host off others. The record is an impressive mix of various themes as identity, colonialism, love, the state of our society today, etc

Surprisingly, Orange Card: Fruitopian Raps is without the rapper’s recent My Toto, which received massive attention for its edgy make.

Born Emmanuel Owusu-Bonsu to a Romanian mother and Ghanaian father, Wanlov trots the globe extensively, and has played as many major festivals including Festival Musiques Metisses – Angouleme, FR, Africa Festival – Wurzburg, GER, Equation Musique – Iasi, RO, Suona Francese – Rome, IT, Mosaique Festival – London, UK, Trans Amazoniennes – Saint Laurent Du Maroni, GUY, Asabaako Music Festival – Busua, and Alliance Francaise Francophone Month Festival – Accra.

He names the likes of Fela Kuti, Busta Rhymes, Bob Marley, Sizzla, Reggie Rockstone, K’naan, Bjork, Mutabaruka, Tribe Called Quest, Fugees, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, Alasa & Yoryee as his influences.

Wanlov is currently under his independent outfit Wanlov Tins, and directs music videos under Wanlov Cini.
