Hip-life musician, Sister Afia
Describe her however you may, but Hiplife artist Sister Afia has revealed a part of her most people probably wouldn’t be able to guess in their wildest imagination.
Known for her saucy and unpopular showmanship, Sister Afia has disclosed that aside from music which she takes as a career, religion is something that takes most of her attention.
The songstress revealed that she is a very religious person who took religious issues very seriously on The Delay Show.
When quizzed about which church she attends, the Jeje composer listed two churches she claims to attend, ICGC and Action Chapel.
When further probed about which branch of ICGC she worship, the obviously fumbling musician ended up leaving the host, Delay, puzzled when she suggested they worshiped in the same church.
Her suggestion intrigued Delay so much, she ended up confessing that even though she was religious, she rarely went to church because most of her shows and interviews were on Sundays.
Astonishingly, Sister Afia believes that God understands her motive for not frequenting the House of God as that doesn’t make her any less religious.
“I attend ICGC. In fact, I attend two churches that are ICGC and Action Chapel. Depending on my proximity to the place. I attend the one you go to, Open Heavens. I have been there twice. I am very religious but I am not a habitual church goer. God understands me because I have lots of shows and interviews on Sunday and that happens to be the only day I can go to Church” she said as the response to questions asked by Delay.
The Highlife musician who appeared visibly tipsy admitted that she had taken a couple of drinks prior to appearing on the show.
She explained that drinking is not a rare activity to her and actually does it frequently and in high quantities when she wants to go wild.
She revealed that even though she isn’t married or engaged, she isn’t in a rush to get a man but was open to any man out there who finds her attractive adding that she doesn’t mind marrying into a ‘gangster’ family.
Sister Afia came into the limelight after her collaboration with self-acclaimed Dancehall King, Shatta Wale, in the song Jeje.
Her tendency to get wild on stage and expose parts of her body also made her stand out as such practices are rare and unusual within the Ghanaian setting.
