Ghana’s Parliamentary Committee on Health visits France

Ghana’s parliamentary select committee on health led by the sector Minister Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has visited France with the aim of assessing areas on how to improve the health sector in the West African country.

The committee also used the opportunity to introduce the new administration of the ministry to its European counterparts as well as build a new bridge between Ghana and France as far as health is concerned.

One of the key highlights of the visit was how to expand the two biggest hospitals in Ghana – the Korle Bu and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospitals.

The parties which met at APHD Hospital Pompidou and Hospital Lariboisiere in France also discussed ways in which they can aid the Ridge Hospital and KATH in training clinical and non-clinical staff as well as management of the institutions on how to improve services.

The French ministry of health assured the team from Ghana including Yieley Chereh, Alhaji Mubarak Muntaka, and Mr. Nkansah the architect of its assistance to the West African country.

It promised to donate hospital beds and other medical accessories to its Ghanaian counterpart to drastically improve the health situation in Ghana.

The New Patriotic Party France branch chairman Mr. Yaw Owusu Kaning hosted the dignitaries from Ghana.
