A former national officer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John, has rubbished claims that President Akufo-Addo has sidelined him in his appointments.
The former NPP General Secretary has told Apple FM in the USA that he is not lobbying for any position and is not expecting an appointment.
“No,” the NPP personality spewed when he was asked whether he is angling for a job.
When Akufo-Addo assumed office media reports were rife that Mr. Afriyie was going to head the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority. However, a new MD in the person of Paul Asare Ansah has been named.
He was coy over speculations that his GPHA appointment was truncated by his detractors.
“I will not be able to tell,” Sir John remarked.
He said he has a good relationship with Akufo-Addo and will continue to play his role for his government to succeed.
