Double registration figure encouraging
Author: Kofi Ata, Cambridge, UK Posted: 2012-04-05 15:16:48 The double registration figures are encouraging since it is a tiny percentage of the total registered so far, though it could be a problem if this figure is repeated for the expected total registration of over 12 million voters. Even if that is repeated it would be 7,200 double registration at most and that would not change the Presidential elections results if what happened in 2008 is repeated. However, depending on where they occur and in what numbers they could influence parliamentary elections. I hope the EC would learn from the experience so far to reduce the double registration in order to avoid any unfair results in especially parliamentary contests.
