Sachet water producers want government’s support
Some producers of sachet water are pressing for government’s support in their efforts to produce quality and affordable sachet-water. They say research into water and drilling of bore holes constitutes a chunk of their production cost.
Chief Executive of Cob “A” Industries - producers of Standard Water, Divine Otoo-Agorhum tells Joy Business support from government will help reduce their production cost which would inure to the benefit of consumers.
“This is something you expect government to support. It’s quite an expensive venture. From doing the geo-physics survey to test drilling you end up spending close to 40,000 Ghana cedi just for one hole. We are asking research institutions and government to come in and support” he noted.
He was speaking to Joy Business at the company’s 15th anniversary launch.
