I SMELL SABOTAGE!

Just wait and see that if a private company will not bring their boat on the secen in no time from this incident happening? There is an invicible hand in this accident and I can smell that from whence I reside over the seas.

Just one?

Ghana needs both a government and private boats, not just one! Ghana has a very good name abroad and we need better management and investment so that people are not disappointed when they visit our country.

A Conspiracy A T T E M P T to use State resources to pay-off the Woyome debt with dubious means and another form of Government Theft.

GHANA IS DEAD........:- ( !!!!!!!

The Dodi was recklessly was burnt into ashes, so that the P/NDC could steal a huge sums of Ghana`s money again to enrich themselves and use a very little , or a small fraction of it to buy another one for replacement , and tell the people of Ghana that the actual cost is $500million , whereas it is only about $500 thousand on the real market price..!

See the Conspiracy of Arson, Fraud, Insider Trading and Theft of the P/NDC communist gansters.

They will take Ghana`s money again and use it to repay off the Woyome debt, and tell the people of Ghana that Woyome has paid back his stolen money into Government chest, whereas in actual fact they have conspired to share it among themsleves....

These are Communist Thieves who use government to make a personal fortune..

See the Conspiracy of Arson, Fraud, Insider Trading and Theft of the P/NDC communist gansters.

Insurance

Author: Quash Posted: 2012-05-05 15:03:32
Was this boat not insured? Why is the govt.helping to buy a new one? Is this being made political? If this boat was not insured the some people should be heard responsible. Thanks

WHY GOVERNMENT AND NOT INSURENCE?

Author: KWAA Posted: 2012-05-05 15:07:24
Do these people want to tell us that,Princess Dodi was opareting the whole time without insurence?Which type of leaders do we have un Ghana at all?
How can a commercial vessel like Princess Dodi, operate without Fire or Accident Insurence?Let´s say (God forbid) some one would have lost his or her life in that accident,or some one would have been seriously injuired who would have pay any compensation resulting from it?
No wonder we are paying such huge judgement debts,(rightly or wrongly)Can`t we plan for anything in this country?
In any civilised country this accident has nothing to do with Government, whether they are the owners of Dodi or not, this is a case for the Insurence company, that is if we would have planned ahead.

Why should the gov't replaced it?

Author: Pelicles Posted: 2012-05-05 15:33:50
If the government is helping to replace it then, I believe this boat belongs to some big guy in the current administration. Who knows if this boat is for Kofi Awoonor or whatever?

Another Woyomegate is in the offing.

This is sad. I recall having a good time on dodi while in ghana, world class standards. Big loss for the country's tourism. Hope there will be a quick replacement, and also a thorough investigation why it burnt.

NO INSURANCE?

Author: Frank Mensah, Tikobo No. 2 Posted: 2012-05-06 01:22:09
I bet the NDC ordered a new boat long before they got someone to set fire to this one. Remember how Jerry Rawlings set fire to self-allocated government building, just so the government can replace it? Watch it. The new boat will be commissioned days before the 2012 elections. By the way, why was the VRA allowed to operate the boat without insurance?

I think it is time now for the leaders in Ghana should think deeply, not just thinking for thinking sake, but the real thinking, our father Obadwenmba Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah had in his life on the earth for Ghana. Deeply thinking and come out with a better solutions to the problems in ghana and not just lip services and liars, we´ve had enough

Ask the hotel manager if he has insured the boat. All he knows is to increase prices and not pay the staff well.

AFRICA FORESIGHT ?@#

Author: mani Posted: 2012-05-07 12:21:54
The boat is burnt, business comes to a halt. That's just how Africa works. This is how things are supposed to work: 2 boats, one for emergency use if the other needs repair. Secure a good international insurance coverage for the boats.

Now, look at them, trying to raise money one-day, to replace the boat. Management need to go.

Ships fires:-Some Causes

Author: Gonja Wura Posted: 2012-05-07 15:29:45
A ship is like a small urban setting.Causes of fires on ships are not very different from those experienced by urban towns.

In an urban setting you have electrical circuits.Ships do have them too. Therefore ELECTRICAL FIRES ARE A POSSIBILITY.

Urban settings have factories, industries etc which use a lot of machinery.Ships also have a lot of machinery too. When machines operate they generate a lot of heat.Unfortunately a BEARING CAN GET OVERHEATED in a machinery;the RESULT can be A FIRE.

Ships use boiler-combustion systems to generate steam;or internal combustion engines for generating electricity and for propulsion. Some ships even have turbines just like those applicable to jet air crafts. All these systems GET VERY HOT WHEN IN OPERATION and can CAUSE FIRES.

Normally engine rooms on ships are enclosed. The closed machinery spaces and the VOLATILITY OF FUELS,of LUBRICANTS or of HYDRAULIC FLUIDS around HOT MACHINERY can LEAD to a FIRE or even an EXPLOSION.

FIRES have RESULTED from SHIPS COLLIDING.

All urban towns have kitchens and dining rooms/halls.Remember ships crew need to eat too.Ships crew food is prepared in a galley.SAME FIRE HAZARDS YOU CAN HAVE IN URBAN KITCHENS OR RESTAURANTS ARE ALSO PRESENT IN SHIPS GALLEYS.

Urban factories, industries etc do occasionally need repairs to their machinery.Ships also have machinery breakdowns, pipe bursts etc.which require mending.Such REPAIRS INVOLVE METAL CUTTING,WELDING,BRAZING etc.All such repair jobs COULD INITIATE FIRES,IF CARE IS NOT TAKEN.

STATIC ELECTRICITY can START FIRES on SHIPS.LOADING/UNLOADING of FUEL TANKS;CLEANING OF FUEL TANKS;CLEANING OF BALLAST TANKS etc are ALL DANGEROUS OPERATIONS requiring extra vigilance.Because of static electricity oil tankers-special type of ship-are specially grounded before any loading/unloading operation.

In fact just about anything that can cause a fire in a town/city can also start a fire on a ship.

CARELESS SMOKING nearby INFLAMMABLE FLUIDS;SMOKING WHILE IN BED; INDISCRIMINATE DUMPING OF GLOWING CIGARETTE STUBS;ILLEGAL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS;LEAKY FUEL/LUBE OIL IN TOUCH WITH HOT EXHAUST PIES; DIRTY OILY ENGINE ROOMS etc All the above are recipe for fires.

Ships crew need to be trained.Ships crew need to be smart;have good housekeeping to stay safe.

NATIONAL DESTRUCTION CONGRESS

Author: Kwabena Apuntuah Posted: 2012-05-07 15:43:02
Since they have been in power, please start counting, how many state edifices have they burnt down? Coincidence? Nonsense! JAK was in power for 8 years and how many of these same properties burnt down? Look something funny is going on with these people. They ar eburnt on securing everything in the country under contract before they leave power. You mark it, they will not only attempt to replace the ferry, they will also attempt to add something in an outrageous amount to it. This is money for the campaign. NDC keep money in the hands of the few that is why it is always difficult for them to raise money for elections. Now that people are not coughing money like the NDK's, PV's, Ahwoi's, Tsikata's etc., Uncle Attah and his Team B need to bring all the money they have amassed since coming to power and also find ways to raise money that are no being accounted for to buy votes. They spent a lot of the money to make the Prez look appealing among us and now need to continue the vote buying for the general elections. Do you know even DP plates for vehicles have gone up and you still have to return the plates although they claim you are buying the plates? Do you know they are charging duties in dollars and asking you to give it to them in cedis? Do you know all these Team B boys are buying properties in US and Britain? People wake up, NPP was corrupt, but NDC has gangantuan corruption!
