Political scientist questions Sekou’s political ideology
Aminu Dramani, a Political Science Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is questioning the political ideology of Dr Sekou Nkrumah.
The lecturer wondered if indeed he is a committed socialist and believes in the ideology of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, noting that that would have made it very difficult for him to fit in the New Patriotic Party.
He said if Sekou had problems with the NDC government, he should have rather joined a party that has related ideology to his former party rather than shifting completely to an opposing ideology.
He cautioned individuals to stick to their political ambition devoid of frequent cross carpeting without respect for political ideology.
The political science lecturer, who was speaking to Focus FM’s Kofi Owusu in an interview, said the defection of Sekou Nkrumah should pose no major problem to the NDC if they strategize well.
“They can contain Sekou Nkrumah because he once stood on the political platform to campaign massively against the party he has now joined. That the NDC can play a glimpse of the videos which he was involved during the 2008 presidential election campaign. This will go a long way to question his credibility as a politician who condemns the NPP so much,” he said.
He also questioned the exact stance of Sekou Nkrumah in the political arena, asking whether he belongs to the left or right.
Mr. Dramani concluded that Sekou’s political behavior raises suspicion that “Sekou has a strange target he is seeking to attain”, whiles urging Ghanaians to desist from the habit of jubilating immediately there is a defection from one political party to a new one.
