AshGold coach blasts referee for FA Cup final defeat

pic 93640383 AshantiGold coach Joachim Yaw Acheampong says 'unfair' officiating denied his side the 2012 MTN Ghana FA Cup trophy.
The ex-international has hit out at referee Joseph Lamptey after his side lost 1-0 to New Edubiase United at the Accra Sports Stadium with ten men.
Midfielder Eric Opoku was sent off for a second bookable offence after fouling Edubiase player Emmanuel Mensah.
Acheampong, who last captained AshantiGold to win the competition in 1993, claims his side were handed a raw deal by the centre-man.
"We lost as a result of bad officiating. I'm not someone who usually speaks on officiating but he was appalling on the afternoon." Acheampong said in a post-match interview.
Ibrahim Moro's 50th minute thunderous free-kick won the trophy for the Bekwai-based side.
