CHOKED BY A CHICKEN BONE

Author: Princewilly@Ymail.com Posted: 2012-09-04 02:17:58
A woman in Takoradi goes into a restaurant in a small town out in the South. She orders the chicken and starts to eat. Eating too fast she starts to choke on a chicken bone.
Kodjo and Abena a country boy and girl in the next booth notice she is choking. So they get up and go over to help her. Abena drops her coveralls and bends over and then starts licking his butt.
The choking woman watches these two go at it and is so grossed out she starts spewing up all over the place, dislodging the chicken bone from her throat.
Abena pulls her overalls back up and says to Kodjo "You're right, that hind-lick manoeuvre works like a charm."

Maybe if your clever minds tells you to reduce the cost of shipping our goods, we can clear them in good time.

WHY DO WE NEED AGENTS IN GHANA?

Author: Ras Dan Posted: 2012-09-04 03:25:20
Why do we need Agents in Ghana to increase import duties just because they are working together with the criminals manning the affairs of the port. The law of agency is not working at all in Ghana. Is it that all port workers are criminals? Yes, I think all are nation wreckers and this must stop. Mr Mbiah don't complain but call your workers and their collaborators to order.

Clean the dirt at the port

Kofi Mbiah, if you want importers to clear their goods on time, you really need massive clean up at the port. Most Custom officers are very thieves, and they have team-up with thieves so-called Clearing Agents to dupe the state. Recently, I shipped used 400 plastic chairs and I paid thirty million cedis (c30,000,000.00). It took me more than a month to together money to pay. Surprisingly, the Clearing Agent is custom employee at the port. I wise I can get any FM Station contact phone number so that they can investigate.

address the known core stumbling blocks

Author: ABU Posted: 2012-09-04 05:29:10
The complains ofred gods choking the port premises must be directed at the port's authorities and operatives. Self induced bottlenecks, intentional delays to incite corrupt practices, over charging of duties on imports and high handedness coupled with lacadiscal attitudes, unprofessional practices and laziness are what is stalling the nations jump forward, and this very complainant must address these vices which are known to all except recent strangers in town.

Bad image for Ghana

My friend imported goods from Korea by Mersk line on 2nd July and up to date 4th Sept he is told the ship cannot dock at the ports, although he has paid all duties through his agent. This is shameful for Ghana and some people must be fired because this could have been prevented.

Heads must roll!People must be fired

Author: Kaykay Posted: 2012-09-04 05:43:25
Why sit here and complain when those who are put in charge to run the ports are not effective?fire them and let more action-result-oriented people run the ports

THE WORD AUCTION DO YOU KNOW IT

Author: Dondoli Posted: 2012-09-04 05:48:51
There is time limit to everything.
Public auction is the answer, the higher bet and the money GIVEN to the owners.
The government has a commision after sells.
If you cant pay your import duty you dont import. Nothing should be left at the port more than a month. Make it a Law.
Mr somebody, should be talking to the government not the mass of as.
Storage should be paid within a month or auction to the public and collected within a week.
Never say you dont know what to do if you are incharge or leave the job.

choked with crap bureaucracy!!

Author: Onslopogas Posted: 2012-09-04 06:22:34
The choke is not coming from the goods but from the unwanted/unnecessary middle-man play coming from agents and crap bureaucracies at the ports.Get all these cleared and be fair with import duties...Problem sorted!!

This is stupid. Why do you not engage the importers to see how flexible they can pay for our 'killing' import duties. Consider paying in installments rather than seizing the goods. LET US THINK. Both will win.

SOS TO THE MINISTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Author: Ayeboafo Nkwantabisa Posted: 2012-09-04 07:25:47
It is a pity that untill now officials are talking about uncleared goods at the port, have they put up any effort in finding out the cause whereby goods can not be cleared at the port by the importers? as at writing, I am trying to clear some goods that I sent to Ghana, (Iam clearing these through an Agent at the port) and my brother the hell that Iam going through and the huge amount which I have been asked to pay, compared to the goods the best solution is to throw the goods into the sea and even after that they will ask you to pay for throwing your goods into the sea, this is just the tip of the ice of the problems. Now let me ask you," who is sooo! stupid to import or export goods and will like the goods to get rotten at the port?
From the Minister of Transport to the Cleaner at the port all are corrupt, the customs officials are the worst.
At the day of the auction investigate the public who will attend this auction, they are the family and friends of this officials at port, SHAME UNTO THIS OFFICERS AND OFFICIALS!.

UNCLEARED CARGO IN THE PORTS

Author: Leonard Posted: 2012-09-04 08:48:06
I disagree totally with Mr. Kofi Mbia. It is not the duty of Ghana Shippers Authority of which he is CEO. We have adequate provisions in the Customs law to deal with the uncleared cargo. As a matter of fact after a maximum of 2 months all uncleared cargoes must be auction by custom division of GRA.

Thieves/crooks reduce the import duties

Author: Freeman Posted: 2012-09-04 10:07:18
We can't afford to pay the duties, reduce them criminals. What do you do to the money earned just pocket them thieves.

REDUCE IMPORT DUTIES .!!

Author: KANTAMANTO Posted: 2012-09-04 11:43:56
The NDC.Government should be wise
enough to reduce import duties to
enable importers to clear their
goods from the ports as quickly as
posible especially cars, trucks and
Cargoes or heavy materials. This is
pure common sence and it will reduce
the congestions at the ports. It looks
as if the team "B" NDC Ministers did
not know what they are doing and bringing
hardship to the people of the nation.
People struggle to bring goods to the
country and because of very high
duties, they could't pay and abandon
the goods at the ports and the useless
government spend "TAX PAYER'S" money
to clear the goods from the ports.
The government should think wisely,
reduce imports duties to enable people
to clear their goods from the ports
as early as posible. BE WISE.
