Author: Evans Posted: 2012-09-05 10:15:47 I have known this family of quack doctors in Madina for over 30 years. That was the only 'clinic' in town in the 1960s, and everybody who was struck with an illness in the night was sure to end there.
The father of this so-called 'doctor' himself was not a trained doctor, so as a child, and seeing the environment in which they operated, refused to receive any treatment from this facility, because I had had an experience from a quack 'doctor, which nearlly proved fatal.
Their clientele included several educated (the police included), and mostly illiterate people, who would want to pay something small and get 'treated'.
This bonking allegation has been there for decades, and many girls and women who grew up in Madina in the early 1970s are victims of this family.
They are actually not Ghanaians, but Togolese, who have found themselves in Ghana since the early sixties. A lot of people who are sent to this clinic eventually die, because they go and waste their time over there instead of seeking immediate help from competent medical personnel or hospital. Other cases are also sent to hospitals late (You can check from Legon Hospital, and they will tell you a long story, because most of the delayed cases eventually are sent there, and the patients return with stories of rebuke from the Legon people. Lord have mercy on these less informed and helpless people ... )
Over the years, they have created this air of experience around them. You will hear people say about the original founder, " Papa no, onim adwuma no papaapa" ( meaning: the man is experienced in the job ). One thing that I did not like about this man and his sons was that, anything that you complain of, they have an injection for you, and in those days, they were not sterilizing the needles too. All the needles were also used. The situation was very sickening.
So as as a child, I would take the pains to come all the way to Mamprobi Poly clinic, or Adabraka polyclinic, Ridge hosp., and then later on to Pantang hospital for treatment. The number of deaths that have occurred here, only God knows, because when they die, they are quickly sent to the nearest hospital, and declared 'dead on arrival' or whatever ... the whole situation was quite scary. I even thought they have long folded up, because the original building had been demolished,not knowing that they are still in 'business'. Lord have mercy on us.
Their business started declining when another clinic, The Doku clinic was opened in the same area. Since then several other clinics have sprang up. Please, the powers that be, should monitor the activities of these clinic to help save the lives of our Madina folks. Thanks ...

A qualified female seeking a job, teenage girls in school, female members of churches, and as this case shows, even female patients in our medical facilities - all are at the mercy of the many male sexual deviants in responsible positions in Ghana who see them as legitimate targets for their depraved desires. All levels of the government bureaucracy, parliament, the clergy, the legal profession, all are full of male perverts ready to prey on vulnerable females.
Unwanted pregnancies are the result of the unwanted sexual attacks by males on women in our society at every turn. If society cannot stop the sexual abuse of women, then it must, at least, provide them with the legal option of having abortions!

If abortion is so safe why is there a recognised medical condition known as Post Abortion Trauma ( PAT ) or sometimes referred to as Post Abortion Syndrome?
This is the condition where after an abortion some women go through deep depression, mental stress, anger, shame and guilt. These condition can sometimes be evident five year after the act. They are traumatic enough to warrant medical or psychiatric intervention.

Although, the Dr. committed a crime in doing so, the victims are to be blamed more. Clearly, some of the victims acted out of desperation as a result of poverty, mediocrity, and ignorance. Which of those victims did not know that both they the Dr. and were doing the wrong thing. However, most of them had to agree because the Dr. was charging far less than a lot of Doctors. This is how our negligence or ignorance not to care for our daughters,instill discipline and Christian values in them and being there for them jeopardise their life.If a young girl studies hard in school, stays away from sex until she is married, there is no need to worry about abortion because the pregnancy will not be unwanted. Fear your creator and go to school and study. You will be informed enough not to engage in things like this.

If you legalize abortion, you are legalizing the killing of innocent human beings. You would not want to legalize the killing of innocent children already born, so why legalize the killing of unborn children?
Let me give you an example: A girl already has a child and finds out she is pregnant again. She goes to a doctor and says, "Doctor, I cannot have this another child. I cannot feed him, educate him, support him, etc. My family will be ashamed of having two children without a husband." The doctor says, "Why don't we kill the child already born? The unborn one can now have his chance at life."
This sounds crazy, does it not? Why would we kill the born child? Now, ask yourself why we would be alright with killing the unborn child? They are both children in the same situation. The only difference is that one is much smaller than the other. If you are ok with abortion, you have to be ok with killing the already born. Otherwise you are a hypocrite.
If you are worried about these young girls and women, do not legalize abortion. Offer them forgiveness and help so they can let their children live and they can do honest work to support them. Take these girls and women in, teach them to refrain from sex outside of marriage and how to do the right thing. Remember the woman caught in adultery? Jesus told the people who wanted to stone her to death that the one among them without sin should cast the first stone.
