The Akufo Addo 'free school' policy has not been properly costed. There are many questions to be answered about the projected cost provided by Akufo Addo. There are also questions about the availability of funds for the projects.The policy may be a vote catcher, but is its funding real?!
There could be other projects to be undertaken, which may also need funding, under an Akufo Addo government; how are they going to be funded?. Which developmental projects and obligatory expenditure will or must become casualties under his government?.
Furthermore, it is one thing going to school and another finding jobs after schooling. There are many senior school leavers and graduates in the country with no jobs for them. Private companies would not employ them either because they are small and the graduates are not experienced or they are not labour intensive.
The best policy will be one to lure large-scale businesses into the country to absorb existing graduates and introduce the free school education, step by step.
