NANA IS CON MAN

Author: NANA KUFUOR Posted: 2012-09-17 12:10:17
You so called lecturers will follow Nana Addict blindly into the gutter. Presently the statistics dont add up. Currently there are 740000 students in SHS. If it is free, the number will treble. Nana Addict estimates GHC78million will be enough for it. You dont need to be a rocket scientist to realise that the amount is not enough for even one month.

"It is now clear that the majority of Ghanaians are buying into the message of the NPP’s flag bearer, to implement the free SHS policy and therefore were determined to crush down any propaganda peddled by pessimists."

Let me ask the writer, on what basis is he/she making the above claim.
The supposed lecturers are now those representing majority of ghanaians?
What kind of logic is that?
No wonder the article is coming from the new crusading guide. I don't think these kind of articles can convince floating voters. Ghanaians are very descerning people and writers have to see ghanaians as such.

Shame on NDC: No focus, no vision!

Author: Woman's wisdom Posted: 2012-09-17 12:28:00
It beats my imagination as to why NDC would not come up with profitable proposals and policies beneficial to the nation. Instead, they try to challenge the good intentions of Nana Addo and the NPP who have done it in the past. Shame on NDC. Again, the following NDC gurus will all be jailed, come 2013: Atta Mills, Woyome'
Naadu Mills, P.V. Obeng, The Ahwois, Barton Oduro, Betty Moulds, Kwabena Duffour, Michael Dokosi, Solomon Nkansa, Fiifi Kwertey, Koby Fiagbe, Asiedu-Nketia, Kwabena Adjei, Otukonor, Alotey Jacobs, Quashiega, Koku Anyidoho, Alex Segbefia, Okudzeto Ablakwa and other NDC gurus such as the Police Chief IGP Paul Tawia Quaye, the Head of BNI and the Chief of Defense Staff.

ecturers are thinking like children

Author: Humanbeing Posted: 2012-09-17 12:30:11
But you should know Ghanaians are wise now if nana addo is saying that, politicians always say things more than this and they dont do them when they come to power except the current NDC govt with their better ghana agenda, so my question is will Nana Addo remember what he said when he comes to power? Wont he start thinking about the car he will buy for his girlfriend and how to satisfy her?

LECTURERS INDEED. SHALOW MINDS

Author: KOO GUY Posted: 2012-09-17 13:27:07
This paper is an NPP owned, so don't be surprised at reports of this nature. Nana Addo thinks such lies can win him power, but he will get the shock of his life come December 7th. "WEE HENE" like you. "OLD CARGO" he will leave the road for strong cars to pass. You people should also behave like intellectuals.

what else should we expect from TADI ?

Author: tkd Posted: 2012-09-17 13:28:54
No one should be surprised at this backward behaviour of those who call themselves learned brothers and perhaps sisters.December 7 would surely come and the people of Ghana would speak loudly to represent the voice of God.

Sad moments for NDC- more to come

If we did this to them from time to time, they would leave the fray and allow more intelligent the discerning people to lead us. What kind of leaders are these? LEAVE gov't to thoughtful people.

Lecturers Without Outstanding Records

Author: Y. Joeman,Saboba Posted: 2012-09-17 13:48:16
If this is true, then these diluted lecturers will soon laugh at the wrong side of their mouths, when their failed all-die-be-die mentor is finally crashed out on the December 7th. I think people of substance should be made lecturers in our higher institutions of repute. There is nowhere in the world that suppose scholars will disregard set standards and institutions of governance in their own mother land.

Nothing wrong about free education

Pls lets have compassion for these poor souls and contribute meaninfully for free education for all. God bless us all.

RE: LECTURERS HOOT ............

Author: KWAME Posted: 2012-09-17 14:55:29
The free education being proposed is not feasible. It is importnt to begin to ask ourselves some basic questions apart from accepting anything said by the politicians.Politicians dont care to lie to power. 4 years in government can change lots of lives, they know. Even if the citizens do not renew their mandate, they will use nefarious methods to keep themselves in power. Their lives would change within that span of time.
Are we not aware that Donors support this country to execute our budgets year on year?If we have enough to execute the plans and programs in the budget, why do we have to rely on Donors?
This country is a developing economy and we are told about the huge developmental gap confronting this nation.Even common subsidy from government attracts our partners attention and advise those subsidies should be removed.Who then can dare provide free education? The cost of education in Ghana is very huge. Currently government has not been able to provide the full cost. Likewise are other sectors which are unable to get the full funding to execute their programs. It is only a '' fool'' who will believe this free education concept at this point of our development. The 1992 Constitution states that the state provide free education up to the second cycle but government has not been able to fulfil this.Parents are made to pay for some aspect of education.
The subject of Economis reminds us that our wants are more than our resources. Have all the sectors been provided for by the state? Even where the provision is made, it is inadequate.
What sectors of the economy will suffer at the expense of education? Or where will the additional resources come from if all the sectors will be attended to? Are we going to suffer taxes or what?
Figures can be easily bandied around since they know the people dont have anything to compare to.
Ghanaians, it is high time we become wiser from these politicians. The NPP are desperate to have power in their fold and we better get awake. Nana Addo has his last chance to lead the NPP so will tell the people of Ghana to get power.
The elites in our society prefer to deal with other elitist politicians. The down trodden people are not their headache so I advise the ordinary people to read through the lies prepared for them.

THE EMPTY PROMISE OF FREE EDUCATION

Author: AN EDUCATIONIST Posted: 2012-09-17 19:22:34
Have we Ghanaians taken pains to consider the implications of this empty promise?
1. The implementation year is 2013. Where are the classrooms to accommodate the thousands of students entering?
2. Where will we find teachers for the schools knowing very well that it takes at least three years to train teachers?
3. Can we get enough textbooks and the required logistics for the schools?
4. If the NDC is focusless, nobody can say same for Kufuor's NPP but the comparatively little grant paid by the Government to meet some of the financial challenges of the schools delay due to bureaucracy and red-tapeism. Are we not going to see worse things and upon what funds will the schools be operating while waiting for the releases of such huge sums?
4. Whose children will opt for day schools when the boarding schools are not going to attract any fees?
5. Are we not going to create a worse situation than what teachers are facing in the basic schools? The parents think the capitation grant and the noise made by politicians that basic schools are free mean nothing should be paid. When teachers demand anything from the parents, the teachers are branded as corrupt people. What will be the experience at the secondary school level?
5. It is reported that secondary education in the North is free. Fine. Why is it that many of the young boys and girls from the North are found doing almost nothing in the South and do not take advantage of the free education?
6. Won't the exercise come at the expense of infrastructural development?
7. What about the wage bill? From GHc2bn, it is now GHc6bn. Many more teachers and the promise of making teachers better off will mean additional increase. Will the other public servants such as nurses, doctors, and the others not complain? Are we going to truncate the single spine salary structure and the objective?
Think about these things because I think we should not be deceived. Talk is cheap but the implementation matters. I can also promise free supply of fuel for every vehicle and find a justifiable way of carrying that out.

UNITY FOR THE PEOPLE's BENEFIT!

Author: Charcoal Seller. Posted: 2012-09-17 22:26:55
Whether the person proposing the idea of free education is capable of implementing it or not, does not mean that others should not consider it's validity. The hard working parents in Ghana deserve a break, I am a CPP man and a solid Nkrumahist, I do not support NDC nor NPP, but
Nana's call for free education is highly plausible, if NPP is incapable of implementing it, then NDC and all other political parties that are campaigning for poor people's votes, ought to try to implement it so that the economic and academic playing field can be leveled.

The problem with too many Ghanaians, is their narrow minded ness, if one party has an idea that benefits the people, biased people who oppose that party would be against it, problem that is, in so doing, they put biased party support ahead of what's beneficial for the people, including themselves, it's a very sick kind of mindset.

Ghana's first President Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah's CPP, was the first to present the idea of free education in the 1960's, they were correct then. Honorable Nana Akufo auddo's NPP idea of free education is also correct, I suggest that all of the other Ghanaian/African political parties ought to embrace this and all other progressive ideas that benefit the masses without bias.
