Kotoko expresses disappointment at 'Super- 2' cancellation

Ghana Premier League Champions Asante Kotoko have expressed disappointment at the cancellation of this Sunday’s pre-season Super Clash against rivals Hearts of Oak.
The tie which was dubbed the Super 2 and sponsored by telecommunications giants MTN was meant to serve as a perfect curtain-raiser before the start of the Ghana premier league on October 7.
Reasons for the game’s cancellation are not yet known as organizers remain tight-lipped on the issue.
According to the spokesperson of Asante Kotoko Listowell Yesu Burkason, the club were relishing the prospects of playing their bitterest rivals in the off-season.
“Kotoko are extremely disappointed because we factored this game in our pre season plans thereby calling off some matches that we could have played”, he told JOY Sports
“We were hoping to use this game to build up for the super champions against New Edubiase but unfortunately is not coming on but we remain focused”.
Kotoko will re-ignite the Kumasi derby when they entertain King Faisal in a friendly on Sunday following the cancellation of the Super-2 clash against Hearts.
