Hearts never pulled out of Super 2
The management of Ghana premier league side Hearts of Oak have rubbished reports of their outrageous demands that led to the cancellation of this Sunday’s pre-season friendly against rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Hearts have denied allegations that they pulled out of a pre-season friendly against Asante Kotoko due to their high demands from the match organizers. The friendly dubbed Super “2” was expected to be played at the Baba Yara Stadium this Sunday.
Meanwhile, organizers Proton Sports is yet to explain the botched friendly. But Hearts of Oak Chief Executive Officer believes his side never was consulted in the cancellation.
“It is not true that Hearts of Oak pulled out of this particular Super “2”, I had a call at 4:00pm yesterday from the organizers of the competition, that the competition will not come on and wanted to find out the reasons but was told I will be written to officially but from my checks,it revealed that the sponsors failed to get the necessary leverage”.he told JOY Sports
Hearts of Oak will now engage newly promoted side Amidaus Professionals over the weekend
