ONCE HE WAS A MINISTER'S BROTHER?

Author: Kennedy Adongo Posted: 2012-09-27 07:22:37
Since when has a minister of stste called for investigations into preventable deaths that occures within our death transist hospitals, Doctors imcompetency and negligents and the high rate of raod accidents in the country?

Now we see fili-fili the hypocricy of these NDC misfit ministers who only think about themselves and families. Once it became the death of a brother, the minister feels the pain to call for investigations. What about the innocent children, mothers and other relatives who have all pathetically lost their lives out of the incompetency and mismanagement of the "woyomenized" NDC riffrats?

DOUBLE STANDARD

The minister's request seems appropriate,BUT there seems to be element of hypocracy and double standard in his request. They only think about their family and friends-

to be diagnosed with cholera, one has to be having spurious diarrhea. Can the minister tell the whole of Ghana whether the brother had diarrhea or not? pneumonia does not give rise to diarrhea and i will be the most surprised if these two diseases that present so differently and that can be diagnosed by even the uneducated as chest infection or diarrhea will be missed by the experienced doctor. Does the minister have anything to hide? Anyway both diseases can coexist in the same individual, the one that kills so fast is the diarrhea cos it drains all fluids from the body. the doctor must take him on for slander and bringing his name into disrepute without evidence. anyway cholera is not diagnosed at autopsy.

hypocrisy

the journalist reporting of the incident is incomplete. it will have helped at least if the presenting complaints were included in your reporting to help make deductions. but i don't think any health professional will administer such quantity of fluids without any ongoing loses. please journalist, seek advice before putting up such report.

INVESTIGATIONS!!!

Author: JAL Posted: 2012-09-27 08:11:25
Wonders truly will never end. The minister is calling for an investigation. He should investigate the late president's death first. He should provide the nation with answers to Uncle Attah's demise and we will gladly support him on this.

THE ACCEPTABLE SIGN FOR A DOCTOR

Author: Princewilly@Ymail.com Posted: 2012-09-27 08:20:05
A young doctor had moved into a small town and was setting up a new practice. He had a new sign painted and hung it in front of his office, proclaiming his specialties:

"Homosexuals & Hemorrhoids"

The town fathers were greatly upset with the sign and asked him please to change it. The Doctor was eager to please, so he put up a new sign:

"Queers & Rears"

The town fathers were really fuming about that one, so they demanded that the Doctor come up with a decent sign that would not offend the townspeople. So the Doctor finally came up with an acceptable sign:

"Odds & Ends"

You see, what goes around comes around. If the various government have been responsible enough; and put in all the social and health regimes fit for our country; there will be competent medical staff and ancillaries & medications to treat and cure ailments; and no need for "quacks". There will be adequate & efficient health centres, and no body will need to go abroad for treatment including our so called "rich & greedy bastards". Ghana will be self sufficient with healthy population. We need leaders with vision......ooooooo!!!!!!!

USE THIS AS A PLATFORM

Author: NANA AMA TANNOR Posted: 2012-09-27 09:01:44
My condolences to the entire family at large. As a healthcare practioner in the US and Ghanaian, why can't you use this as a platform to bring awareness to the healthcare system in Ghana. The trends and transition of healthcare needs to be re-vamped.You as a minister should go after THE MINISTER FOR HEALTH!There are no regulatory bodies in place, not enough hospitals and the government and the people themselves do not give a damn about PREVENTITIVE HEALTH.I do not know what the presenting symptoms were, but there are different types of pneumonia,So if you claim he was dx with cholera too, could it be PCP......Again go after the very people you sit in parliment with, and have their priorities all screwed up.If this is what it takes to bring awareness,so be it.

Doctors beware

Author: Nan Effah London Posted: 2012-09-27 10:05:10
Ghanaian Doctors have been negligently 'killing' their patients and getting away with the consequence.
People are afraid of litigation, hence some doctors simply don't care.
In the legal profession, a solicitor's negligence that damages his or her client's case is actionable. Doctors must be aware that they can be sued for negligence that causes their patients' death as well.

Another stupid minister

Author: Kofi Posted: 2012-09-27 11:32:56
If your brother wanted Korle Bu, why didn't he go there? Was he unconscious when he was sent to Mercy Clinic? Is your brother the first person to have died in Ghana? Even the president of Ghana died and we get about 4 different versions of the cause of his death. Did you see it necessary to call for an investigation?

Author: ABU Posted: 2012-09-27 12:16:21
Is the minister now affirming people in Ghana notably the vulnerable are never treated in our hospitals something every one knows,or his brother's death so personal to him and painful that he is asking for heads to roll?

Re: Minister fights doctor over brother’s death

Author: Thelma Posted: 2012-09-27 12:33:34
I think the minister is in the right direction. It is about time incompetent doctors in Ghana account for their negligence related to their practice. Many deaths reported in Ghana could have been prevented if doctors and nurses alike would have been extra cautious executing their duties. The doctor should be sued BIG TIME. In the US families sue doctors and health care practictioners big time should they cause harm to their love ones.

MINISTER FIGHTS DOCTOR..........

Author: ASUOAFRAM Posted: 2012-09-27 18:46:01
I GET DISTURBED WHEN A MINISTER STARTS TO ATTACK A DOCTOR BECAUSE THE DEAD PERSON IS THE MINISTER'S BROTHER. HOW ABOUT THE THOUSANDS WHO PERISHED ON THE DOCTORS' TABLE WITH NO-ONE TAKING THE INVOLVED DOCTORS TO TASK. THE HON. MINISTER SHOULD KNOW THAT WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS AND WE SHOULD BE TREATED EQUALLY AND FAIRLY.WHAT I EXPECT THE MINISTER TO DO IS TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE MINISTER OF HEALTH AND THE MEDICAL BOARD TO FORMULATE A SERIOUS POLICY TO DEAL WITH THESE NEGLIGENT 'HOMICIDES'.

PRIVATE CLINICS

Author: SAFO, NY Posted: 2012-09-27 20:59:22
PRIVATE CLINICS ARE NOT NECESSARILY BETTER THAN THE GOVT. HOSPITALS, PEOPLE!!IN 2005 I SPENT EVERYTHING ON ME ON MY DEAR MOTHER(MAY SHE HAVE ETERNAL REST) ATTENDING A PRIVATE CLINIC IN KUMASI. I BELIEVE THE DOCTOR GOT TO KNOW THAT THE OLD LADY'S EXPENSES WERE BEING BORNE BY HIS SON IN THE USA. SO HE KEPT MY MOTHER UNDER HIS CARE FOR ALMOST A YEAR (TEN MONTHS)AND CONTINUED PRESCRIBING ALL KINDS OF MEDICATION FOR HER; AND NEVER WAS THIS DOCTOR ABLE TO PINPOINT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY MOTHER.WHEN THIS DOCTOR WAS DONE FLEECING THE FAMILY HE DIRECTED THAT MY MOTHER BE SENT TO OKOMFO ANOKYE HOSPITAL!! WITHIN THE SAME WEEK,AT OKOMFO ANOKYE HOSPITAL, MY MOTHER WAS DIAGNOSED WITH OVARIAN CANCER IN THE VERY ADVANCED STAGE!!. NOTHING COULD BE DONE FOR HER,IT WAS JUST TOO LATE. AND FROM WHAT THE NURSES WERE SAYING THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED SINCE THEY NOW HAVE MEANS OF EARLY DETECTION AND POSSIPLE HELP. THE PRIVATE CLINICS (DOCTORS) ARE JUST FLEECING AND SENDING PEOPLE TO THEIR EARLY GRAVES!!
