Vodafone Ghana offers roaming discount Hajj pilgrims
Vodafone Ghana, CIMG Telecom Company of the year is offering a 70% discount on current roaming charges for Hajj pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia.
The ‘incredible’ offer from the telecommunications giant would allow Hajj pilgrims from Ghana to stay connected to their loved ones and pay less during and after Hajj.
A statement from Vodafone said the offer would go on till the end of the year, and it is targeted at only prepaid customers.
“Vodafone’s Hajj offer is currently the only roaming offer in the country that gives 70% discount on roaming charges to Saudi Arabia,” the statement said.
It said Vodafone prepaid customers could activate and enjoy the offer by calling the Vodafone call centre or by visiting any retail shop.
Vodafone Ghana Head of Consumer Marketing, Tara Squire was quoted as saying “we want to empower our customers going for this year’s Hajj to stay constantly connected to their families at home without worrying about how much it will cost them to do so. We are proud to be supporting our customers in a very meaningful and tangible way as they embark on this very important religious mission”.
In addition to the Hajj roaming offer, Vodafone has also donated mobile handsets to the Hajj committee members to facilitate communication between pilgrims and the Hajj village back home in Ghana.
