Dagbon Regent expresses frustration with eminent chiefs
The Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya-Na Andani Yakubu Abdulai is unhappy with the delay in finding a substantive Ya-Na for the people of the area.
He blames this on the Committee of Eminent Chiefs, which he says has been dormant for some time now.
The Committee, led by the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, was tasked to among other things find a lasting solution to the Dagbon crisis following the murder of Ya-Na Yakubu Andani about a decade ago.
The Regent of Dagbon spoke through an interpreter during a meeting with President John Mahama at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.
President Mahama who also addressed a rally promised to work closely with all parties to restore lasting peace to the area.
President Mahama said besides the extension of electricity to villages in the area, government will refurbish the Yendi Community Information Center with state-of-the-art computers.
