Ghana won't appeal Wakaso suspension

pic 33237683 Ghana will not file a protest to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over the suspension of midfielder Mubarak Wakaso who is ruled out of the Black Stars' last group match against Niger Monday.
The head of Ghana's delegation, Fred Crentsil, confirmed that the Ghana Football Association had no intention of appealing against the player's suspension as it was in line with FIFA rules.
WAKASO, who scored Ghana's match winner against Mali last Wednesday, received a yellow card for over exuberant celebration after lifting his jersey to expose an inscription 'Allah is Great' on his inner vest. It was his second yellow card in successive games which automatically ruled him out of the next game.
"We respect the decision of the referee," Crentsil said.
Assistant coach Maxwell Konadu said the team's handlers had cautioned the players against such acts and would continue to advise them to conduct themselves within the rules to avoid unnecessary cautions.
"We've spoken to the players about things that could attract sanctions. We know how players behave when they're over zealous. But we'll continue to talk to the players," Konadu promised.
