Ghanaian businessmen tour Europe

18 Ghanaian business groups will embark on a tour to exhibit Ghanaian products and business opportunities in Europe.

The delegation would be in Portugal, Spain and Slovenia to market Ghana for a week.

Kofi Asante, the facilitator of the trip, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kwasona Company Limited, noted that although government, through numerous policies and programmes, has been marketing opportunities in Ghana to the rest of the world, there was the need for other entities to lend a hand.

He stated that the main focus of the trip is to form alliances, make contacts and expose the rich and peaceful economic and political climate which has made Ghana the obvious choice in the sub-region.

Mr. Asante revealed that members of the team, made up of manufacturers and service providers, would also exhibit their products and services to penetrate those markets.

He indicated that the move was also to inform the rest of the world on the government policy of public-private partnerships in the investment sector He noted that although economic conditions in Europe were not the best of shape, his team would encourage investors to come partner them to tap the enormous resources of the country.

Kofi Asante, who was at the recently held International Tourism Fair in Spain from January 30 to February 3, 2013, observed that many people, especially entrepreneurs were eager to invest in Ghana.

“The yearly event is Spain’s largest and leading trade and consumer holiday event attracting over 64,000 trade participants and almost 100,000 consumers all over Europe and the developing countries,” he said.
