Pro New Patriotic Party (NPP) Young Patriots group has called for the immediate dismissal of Information Minister, Hon. Mahama Ayariga.
This comes at the back of what appeared to be the Bawku central Legislator’s inconsistency on the name of the seat of Government, the Flagstaff House.
Though Hon. Ayariga has accepted blame for the purported rebranding of the seat of government as Jubilee-Flagstaff House, Chairman for the Young Patriots group, Richard Nyamah took a swipe at him and described the Bawku legislator as “Minister for misinformation.”
“Hon. Ayariga whose responsibility is to accurately inform the public on government business is rather misinforming Ghanaians.”
He made reference to the Andrew Solomon saga coupled with Hon. Ayariga’s bluff that government had not overspent its 2012 budget to justify the group’s call for his dismissal.
“Ayariga told Ghanaians that President Mahama had never had any relationship with Mr. Andrew Solomon and the President had to write to apologize to him; a couple of weeks ago Mr. Ayariga was on air telling Ghanaians that government particularly the Presidency had not bloated its budget and promised to bring the real figures which he is yet to do.”
According to Richard Nyamah, what bordered Ghanaians include the shortfalls in electricity power supply, fuel price and school fees increases, the labour unrest and not the renaming of a particular edifice.
He impressed upon the Information minister, Hon. Ayariga to render an unqualified apology to Ghanaians.
“Considering the gargantuan level of that lie, we are demanding an unqualified apology from him and his dismissal from government; he does not deserve to be in that office.”
