NDC has no intention of killing Bawumia – Quarshigah
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described accusations by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the party masterminded the accident involving Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as “very sickening” and unfounded.
The NPP has accused the governing NDC of causing the accident of their 2012 Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Bawumia on Sunday on the Bole road in the Northern Region.
Responding to the allegations, the Propaganda Secretary of the NDC, Richard Quarshigah, said “it is a very sickening comment and a very unfortunate one coming from a General Secretary of a party like the NPP.”
According to him, the members of the NDC were grateful to God that Dr. Bawumia was safe and sound after the accident and “it is our wish that every Ghanaian will live in health, we will not be involved in any unfortunate situation”.
The NDC MP for Keta said although both the NDC and the NPP are on the other side of the political divide, “we love each other, in spite of the politics, we pray for the life of each other and the progress of one another.”
Mr Quarshigah advised that politicians must be civil and eschew spurious allegations.
Against that backdrop, he called on the NPP to call its General Secretary to order because his “actions are unbecoming”.
