SADA will be forced to collaborate with FC – Minister

Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini says government will ensure that the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) collaborates with the Forestry Commission in the planting of trees.

The Minority in Parliament on Thursday expressed anger over SADA’s admission that a total of 5 million trees planted in the Northern, Volta and Brong Ahafo Regions were destroyed due to long dry seasons and bush fires.

Speaking to Citi News, Alhaji Fuseini stated that the Forestry Commission will be included in future plans.

The sector Minister pointed out that his outfit will ensure SADA collaborates with the Forestry Commission “so that the Forestry Commission can impart to them the ideas that will make trees grow in the Northern part of this country.”

He added that only the trees “which are relevant to the environmental conditions of the northern sector are those that will be planted.”
