The church has been urged to show solidarity with the poor and the vulnerable and assist to bring hope and comfort to them.

Pastor Johnson Okyere, Konongo District Pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church said it should spearhead the fight for a just society - overcome poverty and social deprivation to enable all to live in dignity.

He was delivering a sermon at a service to climax a week-long revival held by the Church at Nobewam in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality.

This was under the theme: “Our Present Duty” and one of the high points was an appeal for funds in support of charity, which netted Ghc10,300.00.

Pastor Okyere said Christians should have passion for service to humanity and to ease pain and suffering.

He also reminded them to mirror Christ-like qualities of self-discipline, integrity, humility and patience, pointing out that, it was by so doing that they could become a positive influence on others.

He urged the congregation to eschew arrogance, morally-corrupt practices, pettiness and intolerance, and cautioned them not to be judgmental, but to accept to live in peace and complete harmony with everybody.
