The Church must help fight corruption – Christian Council

The General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Reverend Dr. Kwabena Opuni Frimpong, has called for a more objective approach towards the corruption discourse in the country.

He bemoaned the partisan way in which the issue of corruption is currently being handled.

Speaking to Citi News, he urged churches in Ghana to join in the fight against corruption by educating Christians on its negative effects.

This he noted will ensure the eradication of the corruption canker.

He, however, advised Christians to avoid politicizing issues pertaining to corruption saying, “We must do Christian education from our pulpits, but church leaders must be careful because the issue about corruption is too much politicized and if you don’t take care a politician can push you easily into corners that you don’t want to be.”
