GFA on course with World Cup plans - Sanie Daara

Ahead of a press briefing on Tuesday 21 January, the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Saani Daara *has explained that contrary to some media discussions that the Ghana Football Association is being slow in coming out with a programme for the Black Stars, all is on course for a clinical programme that would adequately prepare the team for success in Brazil.*

*''Following the draw and tour of some proposed venues and training facilities, the efforts that the FA is putting in place behind the scenes is not a matter of talk but serious diligent work. That is why we are taking our time to make sure that all decisions are thoroughly weighed based on their merits and demerits''*

*At all times, the GFA is in touch with key stakeholders; from sponsors, clubs, players and the Sports Minister. He cited the special relationship between the GFA and supporters of the various national teams which got off on a cheerful note in the New Year as GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi met supporter-groups to outline the sport-body's vision.*

*Over 500 fans turned up in Nima, a suburb of Accra, as Mr Nyantakyi interacted with them. He assured them of a thorough preparation for the Black Stars at the 2014 World Cup.*

*"This is a very important year for Ghana football and key to this is the 2014 World Cup which we have already qualified," Nyantakyi said at the time.*

*The FA has already held closed door meetings with the Minister of Youth and Sports Hon Elvis Afriyie Ankrah. *

*Sponsors have been updated with Black Stars news and there has also been a press conference to discuss issues around the application and purchasing of World Cup tickets. The briefing enlightened the media, registered supporters groups and the general public about the modalities in acquiring tickets for Brazil 2014.*

*'' As far as the GFA is concerned everybody is important and we are all working as a team in the best interest of Ghana''*
