We are better managers of Ghana’s economy - Kwabena Agyepong

Aspiring General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has chided the Mahama-led administration for worsening the socio-economic condition of Ghanaians.

He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a socio-democratic government which promised a Better Ghana is rather taking Ghanaians through a bitter experience with its “poor and cruel economic management”.

Kwabena Agyepong was convinced that Ghanaians are yearning for the NPP because “we are the better managers of Ghana’s economy”.

The former Press Secretary in the erstwhile John Kufuor government was addressing NPP delegates in the Western region during his tour to the region.

He urged party faithful to see the 2016 elections as a redemption mission to save Ghanaians from the “untoward hardship being experienced under this NDC government”.

“The NPP has implemented the best Pro-Poor policies and no wonder the Ghanaian people are yearning for our return. What is left of us is to put strategies in place to police the ballots and convincingly win the 2016 election”.

The General Secretary aspirant also assured the party supporters of a regular interaction so as to design specific strategies to win more people to the NPP.

Kwabena Agyepong stressed on the need to strengthen the constituencies and make them the center of operations, since “all politics is local and therefore resources should be adequately and directly channeled to the base to build a strong party, capable of winning any election in Ghana”.

Meanwhile, the Kwabena Agyepong 4 GS team has so far toured 131 constituencies presenting himself as a viable candidate for the General Secretary position of the party.

Some of the places visited include Akontombra, Bodi, Bia East, Bia West, Juaboso and the Sefwi Wiaso constituencies of the western region. The “Kwabena 4 GS” campaign train started its tour of the Brong Ahafo region Tuesday February 4, 2014.

Kwabena Agyepong has also underscored the need for delegates to elect extremely action-oriented, passionately mission-minded, very demanding of results and is prepared to chase progress throughout his tour.
