Ghana now a patient on a psychiatric bed – Sammy Awuku

An aspiring National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Awuku, has likened Ghana to a patient on a psychiatric hospital bed.

According to him, the country just like a mental patient, has no sense of direction due to the mismanagement of the economy by the incompetent Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

Sammy Awuku said this on an Accra based radio station, Oman FM, while commenting on the measures the Bank of Ghana has introduced to arrest the depreciation of the cedi.

The Central Bank has among other things authorized all banks not to allow customers to withdraw more than 10,000 dollars to transact business. This has been condemned by many with others arguing that the new measure will discourage people from taking their monies to the banks.

Based on this backdrop, Sammy Awuku said the current situation is an attestation that the Mahama-led administration is bereft of ideas.

He stated that a government which cannot make the best out of the oil money and resources at its disposal is a failure.

The strident critic of the government said he is not surprised at the unbridled hardship Ghanaians have been subjected to, because all the NDC does is propaganda.

Sammy Awuku vowed not to pray for a government which has chewed all the meat in the economy because “when I pray, they will get the energy to chew bone left”.
