Adelaide Adjapong wins O.A. Special

Adelaide Owusu Adjapong gave her husband, Felix Owusu Adjapong, something to cheer about on his 70th birthday when she put up a scintillating performance to win the women’s Group B crown in the 2014 O. A.

Special Golf played in honour of former Majority Leader in Parliament, Mr Felix Owusu Adjapong, last Saturday at the Tema Country Golf Course.

Even though Margaret Owusu Baah won the main ladies event with a net score of 71, it was Adelaide’s victory that was celebrated the most as it put the icing on the cake for her husband, the club’s one-time president and key financier.

The highly competitive event featuring both the old and the new saw good old Emos Korblah pick the professional (132 net score) ultimate crown with the Torgah brothers, Vincent (136) and Francis (138), placing second and third respectively.

The well patronised programme compelled the sponsors, Zipnet, to adopt it, and it would now be played on every St Valentine’s Day, a day after the birthday of Mr Adjapong.

‘Lady Scientific’ Florence Etwi-Barimah picked a consolation third prize with a net score of 75 in the ladies Group A behind Esther Antwi, 74 net.

There were wins for E. J. Ocansey and Albert Agbo in the men’s Group A and B respectively while Mercy Werner, Ndubuisi Kachi, and Briggette Harrigton all picked up auxiliary prizes.
