Bimbila residents angry over curfew review

Residents of Bimbila in the Northern Region have called for a complete lifting of the curfew imposed on the area.

They complained that the imposition of the curfew had adverse effects on residents’ socio-economic development.

The Ministry of Interior on Monday, April 14, 2014 reviewed the 12-hour curfew imposed on Bimbila from 9pm to 5am.

The curfew was imposed on Bimbila Township following sporadic shooting in the area between the Nakpaa-Naa Salifu Dawuni and the Naa-Andani royals. The shootout left one person dead.

Freelance Journalist, Mohammed Amin Alabira reported a day after a review of the curfew that residents of Bimbila Township were unhappy about the development.

He said most residents he spoke to called for a complete lifting of the curfew.
