Bel-Aqua wins Mixed Cricket League

Bel-Aqua Warriors emerged tops in this year’s Mixed Members Cricket League which ended at the weekend after four months of batting and bowling.

In all, seven teams - Force 11, BGC, Veterans, Rav, Supermax, Allrounders and Bel Aqua Warriors - competed for honours in the competition which started on March 23, 2014, and climaxed on June 7, 2014 at the Achimota Cricket Oval.

The yearly competition, organised and sponsored by the Ghana Cricket Association, saw players drawn from the various national teams and the Indian community in Ghana battling for the trophy at stake.

Bel-Aqua Warriors took a clean sweep in all six games played to climb to the top of the ladder to win the trophy. Besides competing for honours, the competition was also used to expose the sports to Ghanaians and create the requisite awareness of the rudiments of the game.

According to the organisers, Bel-Aqua Warriors will later present the trophy to the president of the Ghana Cricket Association and the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana.
