Mantrac Ghana to retail spare parts online

Mantrac Ghana, the sole authorised dealer of caterpillar products in the country, has introduced an e-commerce sales platform that makes it possible for customers to purchase some of the company's products online.
The innovation is dubbed 'My Mantrac' and will serve as an online portal for the company's parts and equipment management.
The portal is aimed at using e–commerce to enhance quality service delivery, ensure faster ordering of spare parts and help customers to proactively monitor their CAT machines to avoid down-time and operating cost.
The Head of Marketing and Strategic Planning of Mantrac Ghana, Mr Daniel A. Pabby, said the company was consistently looking at innovative ways of supporting and maximising customers’ investments.
"Our years of experience give us the opportunity to continually introduce very innovative systems to meet the expectations of our customers. Our research indicates that spare parts availability is very high on the priority of our customers. Because of that, we have stocked about US$25 million worth of inventory," he said.
That, he said, led to the development and subsequent launch of the online Parts and Equipment Management Portal. The portal will run on Mantrac Ghana's corporate website and is expected to consolidate the company's sales and servicing outlets nationwide.
With the portal, customers can order CAT spare parts and check availability and prices on their smartphone, tablets or laptop from anywhere in the world.
The Manager of Spare Parts Sales at Mantrac Ghana, Mr Felix Ofosu-Kontoh, said the initiative was aimed at making service delivery more efficient, interactive and effective for the company and its customers.
