Latex Foam pays GH¢1.7m tax in six months

The Northern Command of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in Kumasi has lauded Latex Foam Rubber Products for being the most tax compliant company as of the end of the second quarter of 2014.
Assistant Commissioner and the Regional Commander in charge of the Northern Sector, Mr Isaac Kofi Toffah, said by June ending this year, Latex Foam had paid GH¢1,706,700.96 as tax.
Mr Toffah mentioned this in Kumasi when Latex Foam donated items worth a little over GH¢10,000 to the Northern Sector Command of the Customs Division of the GRA.
The items included 14 high density-mattresses and four sets of branded barriers to be put up at four CEPS strategic checkpoints, particularly in the jurisdiction of the Northern Sector Command.
Presenting the items, the Public Relations Officer of Latex Foam, Ms Gloria Opoku, said the gesture was as a result of a long standing relationship with CEPS and her company’s commitment to contribute to the growth of the Ghanaian economy through the payment of taxes.
Mr Toffah, who received the items, was grateful to Latex Foam for responding to their request and supporting them in their quest to collect revenue for the development of the nation.
“Latex Foam is one of our main sources of revenue and the most compliant taxpayer under their category; we hope to maintain this healthy relationship,” he emphasised.
