Do you want them to waste time on things which would be destroyed in the near future? Otabil if you have now realised that Jesus is not coming any moment from now, then tell your fellow foolish men God to begin withdraw all monies piled up in various banks and distribute them to their church members to begin plan for the future. Otabil if this is not done, then stop wasting our ears, hypocrate.

This type of conceited judgment on fellow compatriots could only come out of a self-acclaimed polyglot who has forgotten that he did not become rich because of his great foresight and astuteness in the business world. This man has never been satisfied with the oil discovery in Ghana. He has on various occasions made very disparaging remarks about our oil find. Otabil is a plain selfish person who hides under various topics to show the innate bile that determines his thinking. This is the type of person who can’t stand others making a headway in this world. Everything should be about this pelf saturated “Man of God” People helped him on his way up. He siphoned tons of money from his congregation. He should learn to shut up and enjoy his ill-gotten wealth.

Papa Sofoo,in a situation where people are living from hand to mouth, how do you expect them to invest?
Investment is the product of savings. So no savings,no investment.
Also concerning sacrificing, how do you sacrifice on an empty stomach? If the current generation cannot get three square meals just for survival,is it prudent to think about posterity?
The economic mismanagement should not be blamed on innocent Ghanaians. It is the fault of the politicians whose ulterior motives are to enrich themselves at the expense of the electorate.
I think exhortations for the change of the moral decadence which have engulfed Ghana should be the starting point.
As in the history and religion of Israel, religion has lost its conscience upon the people.Deception and dishonesty abound.
Now,you cannot trust any Ghanaian.Christian or pagan.Preacher or church member.
If the pulpits will be used to address this fundamental flaw in the Ghanaian,a lot of things will change for the better.

I don't get u Pastor.

He once told the BBC that he wished Ghana had not discovered OIL. This was because the NPP was not in power when the Oil was being pumped up.

Any way I forgive him, since old age is catching up on him.

Papa Osofo, mesre wo ka w'ano to mu; ye koommm! You know these "buga-buga" people already; they'll soon lambaste you and call you all sorts of names. Please just be cool because John "Aplanke Prez" Mahama has nothing good to offer Ghanaians. If he had any clues to improve Ghana's lot, he could have done it long time ago.

While things continue to fall apart for everyone in the country, the NDC govt. is telling everyone that: "Oh, things are under control, and the economy will rebound soon" just as they've been tell unsuspecting Ghanaians in the past.

When Dr. Bawumia, informed them in November 2013 that the economic indicators pointed to imminent economic crisis, the NDC insulted him and called for his head. NDC apparatchiks like Fiifi Kwetey, Okudzeto Ablakwa were all over the astute economist and statistician; they even said he knows nothing. But now we the whole world has seen what's going on.

The Cedi cannot hold it's own against major international currencies; it has dipped in value so quickly, only those dwarfs (mmoatia) in the forest can explain why. The kind of "Mmoata" economics that we're seeing is so horrible, it really stinks!

Papa Osofo, for the sake of your reputation and dignity just concentrate on winning souls for the Kingdom of Christ and leave the clueless NDC alone! After all, Mahama is a one term Prez. He himself knows about it.

Hard Working Ghanaians

Author: Fellow Posted: 2014-07-21 23:05:56
Dear Pastor Otabil, I am a fellow Ghanaian and have come across many hardworking Ghanaians that struggle to put food on the table, pay school fees for their kids, meet the basic necessities of
life . They have barely anything left at the end of the day to plan for the future. Unlike you they are not privileged enough to receive tithes and offering every Sunday. As a pastor what is your message for these people that face economic hardship they have not created? Are they also Shortsighted?

A GOOD ONE THERE. THANK YOU PASTOR

Author: Nii Okai Posted: 2014-07-21 23:36:36
Yes, your message said it all about the real character and behaviour of Ghanaians. These people even never think of sacrifice, and even they do not understand it.

It is always believed that there has not been any success without sacrifice, but unluckly a Ghanaian never realise in anyway that all successful people made some percent of sacrifice.

In today's Ghana, even the so called educated people who continue to talk a lot about politics are victims of the lack of the acknowledgement of sacrifice since they do things which never bear a mark of sacrifice. They only see money in their minds.

We sacrificed when we studied all night without a rest just to pass our exams in our school days; a sign of sacrifice. Another point is we spent the major part of our salaries to support our children education, and another point of importance is taxes were increased to better the economy of our nation. In reality all these examples of sacrifices given above will surely yield better results in the future, and thus proves the need to sacrifice.

How many so called highly educated Ghanaians with degrees from this and that universities in the world do see the importance of sacrifice in their lives? They could not even imagine the good part that sacrifice plays in their lives generally hence their opposition to anything linked to sacrifice, even if it could be to their great benefit. What a sadness that surrounds Ghanaians?

ARE YOU A PASTOR OR POLITICIAN?

Author: KWAME ADDO Posted: 2014-07-21 23:38:10
I believe Dr Otabil is contradicting bible. You will say, Dr Otabil is political bias from his utterance. Don't use the pulpit to preach politics because not all your church members are NPP supporter. I wonder how deep is your knowledge about bible. In Matthew 6:34 the bible tells us "So never worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." This tells us that a country needs development for the future generation to benefit rather than keeping the money which will be valueless in the future. Secondly, our generation needs improvement because the future generation have their own needs. I should stop wasting our ears.

Guys most of you are missing the point. I don't care if he is a pastor, a bishop or a pope. What he is saying is right, a bunch of you assholes think the same and have the same mind. Just a simple example in Ghana, if someone says a Hyundai car is good everyone will buy it. If someone says a Matrix car is good everyone will buy a Matrix. If somebody says a Vibe car is good everyone will buy it...which they don't even know that both these cars are a collaboration of GM and Toyota and built on the same platform. They are the same cars. Do you see the point now? We only think for today and we always say God will provide. Well the bread doesn't fall from the sky anymore. We don't know what is innovation or motivation and our leaders have no vision; they are like gangsters. They are holding our education system hostage, so people in Ghana can't get a better education. So whenever they want to get elected, they cook them some rice water, give them 20 cedis, bread with margarine, kankey and fried fish, so then they will vote for them. Do you guys get the point now? If we didn't travel this far we will be thinking the same like our mothers and fathers and brothers and sisters down there. When you jump to the west and educate yourself you have a different mindset. So please, when somebody writes something and you don't understand, keep your comments to yourself. If you have something positive to say bring it to the forum let's discuss. The president of Ghana has said it already, the country is in first gear. In my opinion it is in reverse, how can we as people move it forward? Does anyone have an idea? DO you guys get the point now?

We are culturally not future-focused, many of us don't practice delayed gratification. Foresight is not in our cup of tea, so to speak. We don't learn to save; learn to put money down for a rainy day.
In our childhood, we are in the habit of consuming all the meat first before attacking the fufu, kenkey, akpele or kokonte. This in my view, explains our shortsightness.

Dr. Otabil, your message is pathetic.

Author: Kwabena Ansa Posted: 2014-07-22 03:21:15
Dr. Mensa Otabil, your comment undercuts the intelligence of Ghanaians and undermines the Ghanaian culture and family tradition which ensures that no child should go to bed hungry. The gist or axiom of that proverbial statement is that, a parent would sacrifice to go hungry in order for his/her child to eat. So, Dr.Otabil, considering the Ghanaian family tradition in relation to your comment with the oil money as basis for your opinion to denigrate a whole country's citizens, don't you think your generalization borders on stupidity and irresponsible?
To tell you the truth, it is you Dr, Mensa Otabil who is shortsighted in your thinking and lacks the capacity to plan for a future.

You are the most shortsighted of all Ghanaians. You started your Ministry with a manual guitar in hand, visiting female students at I.P.S and Legon . You confused and convinced fallible students with thwarted messages on faith and obedience to God and the principles of sowing. You told them that if they sowed God will make a way for them and even made students to believe they would become Govenors of Bank of Ghana. Now after they invested all they had in your Ministry and you became a multi billionaire you are telling them the way to greatness is through investment. What kind of investment are you talking about Mensah?
